Robots like a gecko’s foot

Robots carry weights over 100 times heavier than themselves. Interestingly, that robots move on a flat vertical surface, using a mechanism similar to that of a gecko’s foot.

StickyBot that weighs only 9 grams, raises 1 kilogram load.

μTug weighs 12 grams, is able to move on the horizontal surface 24 kg weights.

Scientists have also created a microscopic robot, weighting just 20 milligrams, which is able to carry on a flat vertical wall, paper clip with a weight of 500 milligrams.

These super-strong bots were built by mechanical engineers at Stanford University in California.
